How do I get to Juurikkasaari?
There are several easy ways to reach Juurikkasaari. By car, it takes only 20 minutes from the center of Jyväskylä. By bus (lines 16, 16M, and 21), the journey takes about half an hour. There are also excellent cycling routes from Jyväskylä to Säynätsalo. You can also arrive by boat, and there is a guest dock for mooring. Some visitors have even arrived by helicopter!

Are the saunas mixed-gender and what should I bring with me?
The saunas at Juurikkasaari are mixed-gender, so please wear a swimsuit. You may bring your own towel or rent one for 5 €. Shower facilities include soap and seat covers for the sauna.
Is Juurikkasaari open year-round?
Yes, Juurikkasaari is open all year. During the summer season, there’s a weekday lunch from 11:00–14:30, concerts, an award-winning beach terrace and grill, events, activity options, and the possibility to organize parties and gatherings. Outside the summer season, weekday lunch service continues, and it is still possible to host private events.
Can I bring pets to the area?
Yes, you can bring your pets to Juurikkasaari. You’ll also be greeted on site by Luna, the Great Dane who works as the Juurikkasaari office dog!
