Unwind the Finnish Way – Sauna & Lake Life at Juurikkasaari

Join our public sauna sessions or rent our sauna and unwind in a beautiful lakeside setting in the Päijänne scenery. Juurikkasaari offers a traditional lakeside sauna weekly all year round and in summer we heat also a tent sauna. For group reservations you can rent a unique glass-walled igloo sauna raft Flamia. Come and relax, enjoy the moment, and take part in this cherished Finnish tradition!

Sauna schedule 2025

Summer time:

• Mondays 3 PM to 8 PM
• Tuesdays 3 PM to 8 PM
• Wednesdays 3 PM to 8 PM
• Sundays 12 PM to 6 PM

Note: There is no sauna session on Midsummer Sunday, June 22nd.

• You can purchase the sauna tickets on site when arriving or in advance here.
• Sauna price 12,50 € for adults and 7 € for kids 7-12 years old. Children under 7 are free while companied by adults. 
• All our sauna sessions are mixed-gender, please wear a swimsuit.
• Forgot your towel? Don’t worry, you can rent it from us for 5 €.
• Cold refreshing drinks for sauna can be bought when coming to the main building of Juurikkasaari, or from the lakeside terrace during summer time.
• Possibility to swim all year round. The saunas are located right by the shore, so you can take a dip in Lake Päijänne either from the illuminated pier or via the child-friendly, sandy beach.

The lakeside sauna facilities are free to use during the sauna shift. There you will find:

• Toilet (hairdryer)
• Dressing room and spacious sauna cabinet for changing clothes.
• 2 showers (shampoo & conditioner)
• Seat covers for sauna
